Thai on Yonge

Bold, fragrant Thai cooking in the middle of downtown Toronto — wok-fired noodles, simmered coconut curries and chargrilled satay, made the way Chef Yut learned them back home in the northeast. Tucked upstairs at 370 Yonge.

Real Thai, off the Yonge Street rush.

Thai on Yonge sits a flight up from the sidewalk near Yonge and Gerrard — a warm room above the downtown bustle where the wok never really stops. Step in for lunch between errands or settle in for dinner after the shops close.

“Cook it like you would at home.”

That's been Chef Yut's rule since he took over the kitchen in 2006. Raised on the food of northeastern Thailand, he keeps the flavours honest — proper fish sauce, fresh herbs, real heat — and tunes the spice to however you like it.
